Whiplash

Whiplash is caused by a neck injury that resulted from rapid and forceful movement, like a whip, back and forth. It occurs most frequently in rear-end car accidents, sports or traumatic accidents.

 

Symptoms

The symptoms of whiplash include neck stiffness, pain and headaches,. Patients will have neck issues. Medical exams reveal injury, fracture(s) or dislocation of the spinal cord.

 

Chiropractic Care for Whiplash

Dr. Stanford determines the severity of the whiplash and will plan the treatment accordingly. Treatment is directed toward the primary detected dysfunctions

Manipulation

The most common treatment for joint dysfunction and whiplash is chiropractic manipulating of the spine. The affected joint is gently moved toward the neck restriction.

Muscles stimulation/relaxation consists of gently stretching the tense muscle(s) or contracting the inhibited muscle repeatedly.
